OEM officials say the new trailer will be equipped soon.
The Mt. Laurel Office of Emergency Management (OEM) and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) have a new trailer.
The OEM announced delivery of the trailer yesterday in a Facebook post, through which OEM officials thanked Mt. Laurel Township Council, the township mayor and the township manager for funding the purchase.
According to the township’s website, the Mt. Laurel OEM exists to serve the emergency needs of the community, whether it is a natural disaster, major storm system, long-term power outage, chemical or hazardous material incident or homeland security threat.
Through the OEM, the township’s CERT helps train volunteer citizens to be better prepared to respond to emergency situations in their communities.
When emergencies happen, CERT members can give critical support to first responders, provide immediate assistance to victims and organize spontaneous volunteers at a disaster site.
OEM officials say the new trailer will be equipped soon.
According to OEM officials, the trailer was purchased from Franklin Trailers West Berlin, with graphics from Acerbo’s Auto Trim & Lettering in Medford.
