Patrols respond to traffic accidents, overdoses, criminal mischief, more

The following reports are on file with the Mantua Township Police Department:

July 6

• Officers assisted State Police with a crash on Route 55 with a vehicle in the woods.

• Officers assisted State Police with a second crash on Route 55 with an overturned vehicle.

• Officers were flagged down on Lambs Road for an occupant in a vehicle that was overdosing. Subject was transported by EMS after officers administered Narcan.

• Officers conducted foot patrol in downtown Wenonah in the late afternoon.

• Officers assisted a motorist that had locked their keys in their vehicle at the Wawa on Route 45.

• Patrols responded to a minor crash in the parking lot of the Dollar Tree store.

• Patrols responded to a reported house fire on McCarthy Avenue, however, the oven fire was out upon patrol arrival.

• Ptl. Mroz conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 45 and arrested an occupant for possession of marijuana.

July 7

• Patrols responded to the new Wawa for a female in and out of consciousness.

• Ptl. Riepen and his K-9 partner Bane assisted the Deptford Police Department with a sniff of a vehicle. There was a positive indication.

• Officers supervised community service workers who cleaned up litter throughout the township

• Patrols responded to a crash on Mantua Boulevard in the area of Bergen Avenue.

• Patrols responded to a minor parking lot crash at the Target store.

• Officers came across a vehicle that had crashed and the occupants were overdosing. They were transported to the hospital and the owner of the vehicle took possession of the vehicle.

• Officers took a report for criminal mischief in which the victim stated someone shattered glass in her driveway.

• Officers responded to a few fireworks complaints throughout the township.

• Ptl. Mroz conducted a motor vehicle stop on Jackson Road and arrested an occupant for outstanding warrants. She was released after posting cash bail.

• Ptl. Mroz conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 45 and arrested an occupant for distribution levels of marijuana wax and gummies and also had a fraudulent Maryland driver’s license.

July 8

• Patrols assisted a motorist who had locked their keys in their vehicle at their house.

• Patrols responded to a motor vehicle crash on Harrison Avenue in the area of West Landing Road where a vehicle was rear-ended.

• Officers assisted the Vineland Police Department with a subject that was wanted for domestic assault in their jurisdiction. He was located at a residence in town and placed under arrest.

• Officers responded to a few fireworks complaints throughout the township.

• Ptl. Hauss investigated a suspicious vehicle at the Wenonah Lake after hours and found a couple there. During the investigation, the male fled the area on foot into the woods. The female was placed in custody and informed officers of the identity of the male that fled. Complaints were signed against the male.

July 9

• Officers responded to the Kohls store where a female was being be detained by loss prevention for shoplifting. She was placed under arrest and released after being processed.

• Ptl. Mroz and his K-9 partner Zuke assisted with a residential search warrant in Paulsboro.

• Ptl. Crispin conducted a motor vehicle stop on Mantua Avenue in Wenonah and arrested an occupant for outstanding warrants.

• Patrols attempted to locate a subject in Ceres Park that needed assistance. After an exhaustive search, the male was tracked to Route 55 and not located.

July 10

• Officers responded to the Centre City development for a construction crew that started work prior to 7 a.m. as allowed in the ordinance.

• Patrols responded to the Inspira Urgent Care for a patient that had made threatening comments to the staff.

• Officers took a burglary report for a residence that was entered on Martel Street.

• Patrols responded to a fistfight on the exit ramp from Route 55 for two motorists that had an incident on Route 55.
