Burlington County Clerk Tim Tyler said June 18 that he plans to perform free wedding ceremonies over the next several months at parks throughout the county.
“It is my pleasure to offer couples unique opportunities to exchange vows this summer at some of the most beautiful locations in the county,” Tyler said in a statement. “Helping couples start the next chapter of their lives together is a joyous service that I always look forward to providing.”
Tyler will perform weddings at the Burlington County Agricultural Center in Moorestown and Palmyra Cove Nature Park on Friday, July 20, and Tuesday, Aug. 21, respectively. On Friday, Sept. 21, the Historic Smithville Mansion in Eastampton will be the venue for the wedding ceremonies.
Weddings at all locations will begin at 3 p.m. with ceremonies scheduled until 6 p.m. Interested couples should contact the clerk’s office at (609) 265–5142 to ensure an appointment is available. Couples will need to obtain a marriage license from the town in which either of the parties resides. It takes 72 hours to obtain the license.
“There are a limited number of appointments available, so interested couples should contact the Clerk’s Office as soon as possible to schedule their ceremony,” added County Clerk Tyler. “I cannot wait to take part in such a special day for Burlington County couples and their families.”
