Burlington County veterans are invited to attend Veteran’s Workshop
The Medford Arts Center is providing veterans throughout Burlington County with the opportunity to express themselves artistically with a new initiative to give those who have and are serving in the military an outlet for creative expression — The Veteran’s Workshop. The genesis of the program emerged six months ago when Medford Art’s teacher Art Smith expressed his desire to have a place veterans can go for free art classes, according to President of the Board Jeffrey Lucas.
County officials talk about the rising heat this summer
July is bringing on the heat in Burlington County. With temperatures rising above 90 degrees, community members are encouraged to remain vigilant about the heat and use local resources if needed. Director of the Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders Kate Gibbs said that although Burlington County does not issue a traditional heat advisory, residents are not alone when temperatures increase above the normal range.
Burlington County Clerk Tim Tyler to perform free wedding ceremonies
Burlington County Clerk Tim Tyler said June 18 that he plans to perform free wedding ceremonies over the next several months at parks throughout the county. “It is my pleasure to offer couples unique opportunities to exchange vows this summer at some of the most beautiful locations in the county,” Tyler said in a statement. “Helping couples start the next chapter of their lives together is a joyous service that I always look forward to providing.”
