GTPD seek help in identifying suspect behind Iron Gate fires

Since September 2017, local police have been investigating mysterious fires that unfold before daybreak in the Iron Gate part of town.

The following report is from the Gloucester Township Police Department:

The Gloucester Township Police Department is requesting the community’s assistance in identifying a person of interest.

The person of interest is described as a white male, possibly in his teens or early 20s who was captured on surveillance video on June 26 at approximately 2:46 a.m. To watch the footage, visit the GTPD Eye Watch archive at: youtu.be/E2ELJ6gHYl4.

The suspect is seen pouring a flammable liquid onto several townhouses, and then intentionally setting it on fire.

This fire was the fourth fire that has occurred at this construction site.

The fires have occurred on Sept. 29, 2017, Nov. 27th 2017, Jan. 3 and June 26.

It appears the fires are set in the early morning prior to daybreak. The fires appear to be intentionally set.
