Louise had a passion for documenting family history. She was the caretaker of over 130 original Civil War letters, as well as other family memorabilia. She spent her retirement years documenting both paternal and maternal family history, and has presented every one of her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews with bound volumes of her work.

Louise is the last of her generation in our family, and we can only hope the we, her children and her nieces and nephews, continue the lessons she taught us: never undervalue the importance of family, be strong in your beliefs, be wise with your words, be generous with your heart, be sharing with your wisdom and gentle with your criticism.
