Council approves Victory Refrigeration redevelopment plan on first reading
Cherry Hill Township moved one step closer toward approving a redevelopment plan for a longtime vacant parcel of land. Township council approved a plan on first reading for the Victory Refrigeration redevelopment site located on Woodcrest Road across the street from the PATCO station. The plan splits the site into two areas named Victory West and Victory East, with 370 residential units planned for the west side of the property.
Cherry Hill Public Schools reaches new heights with character education
After years of celebrating numerous schools as National Schools of Character, Cherry Hill Public Schools received a district-wide honor. The district was recently named as a National District of Character for the first time. Character.org gave the district the honor based on its work in character education and how the district’s goals align with Character.org’s 11 Principles of Effective Character Education.
Township officials, residents discuss pickleball dilemma at Lions Den Park
A large portion of Cherry Hill Township Council’s meeting on Tuesday was dedicated to a discussion about pickleball courts located at Lions Den Park on New York Avenue. A group of residents from Erlton North neighborhood of Cherry Hill complained to township council about an increased amount of noise and heavy traffic due to the large amount of use the courts receive.
Township Council honors Cherry Hill Youth Cheerleading for outstanding 2017–18 season
Cherry Hill Youth Cheerleading received a huge honor at Tuesday night’s Cherry Hill Township Council meeting as the organization received a proclamation from Mayor Chuck Cahn and members of township council. The proclamation was issued to CHYC for its achievements during the 2017–18 competition season. Over the past six months, CHYC has won two national titles and earned numerous first place finishes.
Two bridges to be repaired in Cherry Hill this summer
The Camden County Department of Public Works plans to make repairs to two bridges located in Cherry Hill Township this summer. Work is scheduled for the Grove Street Bridge and the Cuthbert Boulevard Bridge, both of which stretch over the Cooper River. County officials say the two bridges will be repainted and repaired to extend their service lives.
