Shamong EMS hosts free community CPR program

The last class before the summer break will be on Saturday, June 16 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Since 80 percent of cardiac arrests happen in the home, and though EMS gets there as fast as they can, the sooner CPR is started the better the chances are for an improved outcome.

Shamong EMS will be hosting a free community CPR program on June 16 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Squad building located a 48 Willow Grove Road.

This program will cover adult, child and pediatric CPR including AED use, rescue breathing and what to do when someone is choking.

This course is being offered free of charge to Shamong residents to learn the skills needed in a cardiac or choking emergency, though non-residents are welcome and donations are appreciated.

If you want to obtain a course completion card along with the skill there will be a charge, as follows:

Shamong residents with AHA card: $40

Non-resident, no card: $15

Non-resident with AHA card: $55

In order to maintain a good student to instructor ratio space is limited. Please sign up quickly by contacting [email protected] or (609) 268–2665.
