A mass of Christian burial will be offered for Anne at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish Church at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 31.
Anne (Carlin) Van Sciver, age 86, of Moorestown, passed from this earth on Sunday, May 20. She was the devoted wife of the late Richard J. Van Sciver. They shared 53 years of marriage together.
Born in Atlantic City and raised in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Alexis M. Carlin and Anna Elizabeth Carlin. She attended Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls and Pierce Business College, both in Philadelphia. Anne was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Parish in Moorestown and the OLGC Pastoral Choir.
Anne will be remembered for her love of family, her quick wit, being an entertaining hostess, her chocolate ice cream, a love of lively conversation and her Irish pride.
She is survived by her loving daughters Marie Stavros (Jim) of Moorestown, Martha Tozzi (Ken) of Gettysburg, Pa.; beloved grandchildren Ken Tozzi, Jr. (Anna), Brett Tozzi (Allie), Alexis Lonergan (Paul), Katie Stavros and Caroline Stavros; great-grandchildren Elise Anne Tozzi, John Michael Tozzi & Luke Richard Tozzi; siblings Joseph Carlin (Ellie), Elizabeth Henry and Leo Carlin (Kay) and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, parents and brothers Alexis (Bud) Carlin and Thomas Carlin.
A mass of Christian burial will be offered for Anne at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish Church at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 31 followed by interment in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Moorestown. Guests are invited to visit with Anne’s family at a luncheon following.
