On Sunday, May 5, The Shawnee Baseball Team hosted their annual event called “Buddy Ball” at the Hartford Crossing Complex in Medford. Students with special needs from all over South Jersey partnered up with a Shawnee “Buddy” who helps them with playing in the field, hitting and running around the bases.

The program supplied each player with a uniform and hat before the game as well as a trophy, water bottle, and a picture with their buddy and the mascots from all of the Medford schools after the game. Finally, at the conclusion of the game the participants held a BBQ with the help of the Home Plate Club and the BBQ team “Smoke on the Water,” who provided hot dogs, hamburgers, pulled pork, chips, drinks and cookies.
