All dogs welcome at Chestnut Branch Park on Saturday, May 19 for a dog parade
The Mantua Township recreation committee is excited to host Bark in the Park this Saturday, May 19.
The purpose…Get outside with your family and friends on a nice weekend morning and show your dog off to the community. The township has waived the no dog ordinance at Chestnut Branch Park for the event. No pre-registration is required, participants are just asked to be at the park at 9 a.m. to register and at 10 a.m., a parade will commence.
Each dog and owner will be called by name and recognized by all in attendance. The committee encourages people to have fun with the event and even dress their dogs up as there are a variety of prizes that will be given out. Categories to be announced on Saturday.
Robert Zimmerman, deputy mayor and liaison to the recreation committee said, “It’s meant to generate community involvement and get people out to the park to have a good day.”
After the parade, multiple K9 units from around Gloucester County will perform demonstrations.
All dog must be leashed. Rain date, May 20.
