Assemblyman Peters to help honor students and members of the LRHSD community who have committed to military service.
The Lenape Regional High School District will hold the ninth annual Armed Services Awards ceremony to honor the selfless commitment made by the individuals — and their loved ones — who are entering, currently serving in or have served in the military at its Annual Armed Services Awards Ceremony on May 15. The event will recognize the LRHSD students who will enter the military or attend a military academy upon graduation, as well as the alumni and employees of the district who are currently serving or are veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. In addition, the night’s program includes special recognition of the parents and grandparents of future and current members of the military and of U.S. veterans for the sacrifices they have made for our country through their support of their loved ones.
N.J. Assemblyman Ryan Peters will deliver the keynote address. Peters, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, served on multiple combat deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan as a Navy SEAL, and he currently serves as the lieutenant commander for SEAL Team 18 in the Naval Reserve. His history of civic duty includes serving as the chairman of the Board of Directors of Liberty USO of Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey. As an assemblyman, he represents the eighth district, which includes parts of Atlantic, Burlington and Camden counties.
The event will be held on May 15 at 7 p.m. at the Lenape High School auditorium located at 235 Hartford Rd. in Medord.
