CONTACT of Burlington County is seeking volunteers

Volunteers would make brief “care calls” to elderly or disable clients to check on their well-being.

CONTACT of Burlington County, the nonprofit 24/7 crisis helpline, is seeking volunteers to make brief “care calls” to elderly or disabled clients of the Reassurance Program. Calls can be made from the volunteer’s home or mobile phone, to check on a client’s safety and well-being and to provide friendly conversation.

A two session training program will be held Monday, June 4 and Monday, June 11, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. focusing on listening and communication, crisis skills, and on community resources to address aging-related issues. Trainees must attend both sessions.

Pre-registration is required, no later than Thursday, May 24. For information, please contact Lisa Harkins, Reassurance Program Director, at [email protected], or call 856–234–5484 x212.
