On May 7, Medford Police and Fire Department were dispatched to an overturned truck.
The following information is on file with the Medford Police Department.
On May 7, Medford Police and Fire Department were dispatched to an overturned truck on Tabernacle Rd. in the area of Shawnee High School.
Initial investigation revealed a utility brush truck was traveling east bound on Tabernacle Rd. after picking up a large pile of brush and tree debris. The driver of the truck failed to lower the crane portion after picking up his last load of brush at an unknown location. The truck crane arm hooked on to a Verizon telephone wire causing the truck to pull suddenly to the right and flip over on to the passenger side of the truck. The truck came to rest against a Verizon/Atlantic City Electric utility pole causing it to break in several locations and damage to the wires. Both Verizon and Atlantic City Electric were called to the scene for repairs.
The vehicle was later safely up-righted with the assistance of Atlantic City Electric and Hainesport Towing. The roadway remained closed for approximately 12 hours while the vehicle was up-righted and repairs to the utility pole and wires were completed. An investigation into this incident by the Medford Township Police Traffic Bureau is pending.
