The Alice Paul Institute will hold a ‘Living History’ presentation regarding America’s first female to serve in Congress on June 9
Living History Presenter Carol Simon Levin will portray Jeannette Rankin, telling the intertwined stories of women’s suffrage activism, war service and the political calculus that finally brought the support of President Wilson, the U.S. Congress, and state legislatures to achieve passage of the 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote.
This event, entitled “Pickets & Persistence” will be held on Saturday, June 9, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Alice Paul Institute, 128 Hooten Road, in Mt. Laurel.
The standalone cost of this event is $5 per person.
However, admittance to this event will be included for free for those arrive early and pay for a $5 tour during the Institute’s ongoing Second Saturday Tours from noon to 2 p.m.
