Winners will have the opportunity to compete for a chance at Major League Baseball Batting Contest and Elks State Batting Contest.
The Marlton Elks, Major League Baseball and the Philadelphia Phillies unite to host the local “MLB Junior Home Run Derby” and the “Elk Batter-Up Competition” on Sunday, April 29, from 3 to 7 p.m., at Laurel Acres (Babe Ruth Field), 1031 Union Mill Road in Mt. Laurel.
Boys and girls, ages 5 through 15, are welcome to participate. Winners of the Home Run Derby have a chance to compete in Washington, D.C. during MLB All-Star Week.
Winners of the Elk Batter-Up have an opportunity to compete at the State Level.
Mickey Morandini, Philadelphia Phillies Club Ambassador and team alumni (player 1990–97, 2000 and coach 2011–17) will be at the event to greet the children and distribute Phillies giveaways.
During on field competition, the Marlton Elks will be hosting a variety of activities for the entire family to enjoy, such as pie eating contests, karaoke, relay races, face painting and other baseball related contests, with medals and t-shirts to be awarded.

The event will begin at 3 p.m. with the National Anthem sung by Deputy Mayor Debbie Hackman and a flag presentation by the Cherokee ROTC.
