District to host annual blood drive for American Red Cross

The drive will be held on Wednesday, May 2, from noon to 5 p.m.

The Washington Township Public Schools will team with the Penn-Jersey Region of the American Red Cross for a blood drive on Wednesday, May 2, from noon to 5 p.m. in the Eileen Abbott Central Administration Building. The building is located at 206 East Holly Ave. in Sewell.

In addition to the collection of much-needed whole blood donations, the Red Cross will also have a double-red cell donation machine on site, allowing certain donors to safely donate two units of red cells during one appointment as an automated donation process.

Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood, including more than one million new cancer patients who often need blood during their chemotherapy treatments.

To schedule your 15-minute appointment, contact Cheryl Jones at (856) 589–6644 ext. 6607, or visit the online scheduler at www.redcrossblood.org/, sponsor code “Washington Township School.”
