Police say the incident began when officers responded to an American Eagle Store for two alleged disorderly customers.
The following information is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:
On March 11 at 6 p.m., officers with the Evesham Township Police Department responded to the American Eagle Store, 500 S. Route 73, for two alleged disorderly customers on location.
Police say two males allegedly fled the store prior to police arrival, but arriving officers located one of the males in the parking lot.
According to police, an investigation determined that the two males had allegedly attempted to return stolen merchandise. Police say officers observed that their vehicle was allegedly loaded with stolen clothing, resulting in the vehicle being impounded while police applied for a search warrant.
On March 14, investigators obtained and executed the search warrant on the males’ vehicle.
During the search, police say $3,700 worth of allegedly stolen merchandise, $1,280 in U.S. currency and several “booster bags” used to allegedly defeat security sensors were seized. Police say the second male was eventually identified and turned himself in.
Arrested:
A male, age 25, of Philadelphia was charged with third-degree receiving stolen property, fourth-degree possession of anti-shoplifting devices and fourth-degree criminal attempt theft by deception. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail with no bail.
