Mt. Laurel Municipal Utilities Authority completes upgrades on two sanitary sewer pump stations

The Mt. Laurel Municipal Utilities Authority recently announced the completion for the rehabilitation of two more of the MUA’s 41 sanitary sewer pumping stations. According to MUA officials, this project is a continuation of the MUA’s program to upgrade the sanitary sewer pump stations throughout the township. Pam Carolan, MUA executive director, explained that due to the age of these two pumping stations, rehabilitation was necessary to prevent failures that would disrupt operations.

Girls ages 10 to 16 invited to coding event at Rowan College at Burlington County on March 17

Local girls ages 10 to 16 are invited to join a Google “Made with Code” party at Rowan College at Burlington County on Saturday, March 17. The “Made with Code” party is sponsored by the college along with New Jersey State Sen. Dawn Marie Addiego and Burlington County Freeholders Kate Gibbs and Linda Hughes. Officials describe the event as the “perfect opportunity” for any girl, ages 10 to 16, who is curious about finding a future in the world of coding. No prior coding experience is needed to attend.

Safety event featuring information on lyme and tick-borne diseases set for April 16 in Mt. Laurel

The Larchmont Elementary School PTO, in conjunction with school nurse Eileen Valerio, will be hosting an event on April 16 entitled “The State Of Lyme & Tick-borne Diseases In 2018.” This event is open to the public and will feature a presentation from Robert Bransfield. “The State Of Lyme & Tick-borne Diseases In 2018” event will take place on April at 6 p.m. at Larchmont Elementary School, located at 301 Larchmont Blvd. in Mt. Laurel.

Mt. Laurel Republicans back Mayor Rich Van Noord and Deputy Mayor Dennis Riley in primary

The Mt. Laurel Republican committee has unanimously chosen Mayor Richard Van Noord and Deputy Mayor Dennis Riley to represent the party in the upcoming June primary. According to the committee, the two were chosen on the recommendation of a six person committee and presented to the full committee.

‘Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America’ to present at Mt. Laurel Democratic Club meeting

Representatives from the “Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America” organization will give a presentation at the next monthly meeting of the Mt. Laurel Democratic Club. Speakers will be Lynn Hoag, the organization’s South Jersey legislative lead, and Audrey Iacobucci, the group’s data lead. Officials with the Mt. Laurel Democratic Club say that with gun violence often in the news, the Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America organization promotes “common-sense gun safety.”
