Moorestown girls swimming finishes season with state championship

The Quakers won their first state title since 1995 on Saturday against Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School.

Moorestown girls swimming made history on Saturday as the Quakers won their first state championship in 23 years when they topped Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School, 91–79, in the NJSIAA Public Group B state championship meet.

The Quakers dominated in the individual races, winning first place in seven of eight individual events. Leading the way was Holly Robinson, Emily Wiesniewski and Abigail Wilson, who won two individual events each. Moorestown also took first place in the 400 freestyle relay, the final event of the meet.

The state title is just the second in the history of the Moorestown girls swimming program. Moorestown finishes its season with a record of 13–1.
