Happy Birthday Washington Township
I am happy to announce Saturday, Feb. 17 marked the 182nd Birthday of Washington Township! Washington Township was established on Feb. 17, 1836 as a part of Gloucester County. After all of these years and many changes along the way, Washington Township is still thriving and I am thrilled to be a part of its continued growth. If you would like to learn more about Washington Township’s history, you can visit the Township website at www.TownshipNJ.com, under the “Resident Information” tab. I look forward to being a part of more positive additions and initiatives that will support the development of Washington Township!
Mayor Hoagie Luncheon
On Monday, Feb. 5, I was fortunate enough to visit the Washington Township Senior Citizen Center where I was able to pass out hoagies for the seniors present. Councilwoman Angela Donato, Council President Joe Perry, and my Administrative Assistant, Alicia Rotella were also there to join me for this occasion. I was pleased to speak with some of the senior citizens of Washington Township and get to know them on a more personal level. I would like to extend a big thank you to Ron Lucarini, the COW Project, and Future Acts for providing the donated hoagies for our seniors to enjoy.
Eagle Scout Proclamation
At the Feb. 7 Council Meeting, I was honored to present Robert Troy Young with a Proclamation, recognizing his hard work in achieving the title of Eagle Scout. Robert, or “Troy” as his friends and family call him, has spent a lot of time and effort to reach this level; I was all too happy to recognize his great achievement with a Proclamation. His accomplishments will serve him well in the future. I wish Troy continued success with his future endeavors.
Shop Washington Township
I am thrilled to announce the continued advancement in the Shop Washington Township program. We have hit the milestone of thirty participating businesses! You can find a list of these participating businesses, as well as their contribution to the program, at www.propertytaxcard.com. You will also find an updated list on the Township website, www.TownshipNJ.com, under our “Business” tab and under our “News Flash” section on the front page. I’m very excited to see this program continue to progress. I’m looking forward to seeing more businesses listed on the website as time goes by. Make sure to register your Shop Washington Township card before using it to make purchases at participating businesses. The greatest part of this program is that residents of Washington Township can earn property tax credits by patronizing local businesses and the businesses will receive more business in return; it is mutually beneficial. If you would like to learn how you can sign up your business for the Shop Washington Township program, please contact my Administrative Assistant, Alicia Rotella at [email protected] or at 856–589–0575.
