Mt. Laurel residents have approved the 2018 budget for Mt. Laurel Fire District No. 1. This year’s annual Fire District Election took place on Feb. 17.
The 2018 budget increases the district’s tax rate by .65 cents, raising the overall fire district tax rate from 16 cents to 16.65 cents per $100 of assessed valuation.
There were 297 residents who voted to approve the budget, with 93 residents who voted against the budget.
Voters also re-elected David Ridenour, Richard Hamilton and John Cornue to the district’s Board of Fire Commissioners.
The three incumbent candidates ran unopposed.
