Press release issued by Gloucester County
Deptford — Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger and Freeholder Heather Simmons announced that the first Mega Job Fair of 2018 will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday, March 23 at Rowan College at Gloucester County. There are already 63 employers who will be attending and that number is anticipated to grow.
The Mega Job Fair is designed to help county residents find employment by interacting with various businesses to learn what positions they have open for and what type of employees they are looking for.
Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said, “The county’s Mega Job Fairs have brought success and employment to many residents and we are pleased to work with our business community to offer this opportunity. We are offering free workshops to help residents prepare their resumes and learn new and useful interview skills for the Mega Job Fair. With so many different job types and employers, there are many opportunities.”
Freeholder Heather Simmons, Liaison to Economic Development, said, “This event is a great way to put the networking skills taught in our workshops or learned through experience to good use. All businesses attending the Mega Job Fair are actively looking to hire and are excited to meet potential candidates. Job seekers should make sure to dress for success, have multiple copies of their resume, and be prepared for on the spot interviews from any of the businesses they may have interest in.”
To prepare for the Mega Job Fair, the county is offering residents free job workshops where attendees will be able to learn skills from experts such as landing a job with an effective resume, social media techniques, and job fair strategies.
Dates for free job workshops include:
Wednesday, Feb. 21, 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Mullica Hill Library, 389 Wolfert Station Rd., Mullica Hill.
Friday, March 2, 10 to 11:30 a.m., Rowan College at Gloucester County, University Center, Room 901, 1400 Tanyard Rd., Sewell.
