Shannon Heasty and Stephen Walker are both serving in the U.S. Navy
Shannon Kathleen Heasty of Sewell will wed Stephen Michael Walker of Castle Rock, Colo., in April 2018.
Both Shannon and Stephen are serving in the United States Navy, where Shannon is stationed in Norfolk, Va., as an Ensign in the Nurse Corps. Stephen, also an Ensign, is completing the final phase of flight school in Pensacola, Fla., where he will fly helicopters in the Navy.
Shannon and Stephen met in June 2014 aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz, where they, among other midshipmen, were sent from their respective colleges, Villanova University and University of Kansas, for their NROTC training. A year later, fate stepped in and their paths crossed once again while completing their NROTC training in San Diego, Calif. It soon became apparent they were meant to be.
Their long distance relationship has not deterred these two one bit, and hopefully the Navy will quickly give them orders together, allowing them to reside in the same location for the first time ever.
