Twenty-eight singers will compete to perform a solo at the WTHS Pops Concert on Feb. 15
Twenty-eight singers and would-be pop stars from Bunker Hill, Chestnut Ridge and Orchard Valley middle schools will be competing in the sixth annual Washington Township Middle School Idol contest on Friday, Feb. 2, at 7 p.m. at Orchard Valley Middle School. The contest is under the direction of OVMS teachers Alyssa Campanini (chorus), Amy Leso (drama) and Kelly Walz (special education) and Washington Township High School teacher and choral director Joe Zachowski.
The contest winner will be invited to perform a solo at the WTHS Pops Concert on Feb. 15.
2017 Middle School Idol winner Isabelle Nutt (OVMS) will be performing, but not competing in the contest.
Tickets can be purchased at the door for $5.
The 2018 Middle School Idol contestants include:
Grade six: Astrid Paoletti (OVMS), Daniel Hillig (BHMS), Maddie Stein (CRMS), Gianna Trapani (OVMS), Samear Goffney (OVMS), Talia Morrison (BHMS), Nina Cardamone (BHMS) and Kylee Maccherone (BHMS).
Grade seven: Madison Kodrich (CRMS), Lauren Conlin (CRMS), Talia Mazzuca (OVMS), Nicole Forte (BHMS), Mia Pagliarini (OVMS), Samantha Pilla (CRMS), Isabella Nelli (CRMS) and Katie Gee (OVMS).
Grade eight: Gianna Santana (OVMS), Nick Bachich (BHMS), Jacqueline Caserta-Bonnell (CRMS), Joelle Watson (OVMS), Fia Cardoso (OVMS), Ava Scott (CRMS), Jacob Loomis (BHMS), Jewell Mazahreh (CRMS), Alyssa Bauersfeld (CRMS), Alison Maselek (OVMS), Laina Ryan (BHMS) and Jaycen Geiser (BHMS).
