Mt. Laurel Police Department reports credit card fraud, shoplifting and more in recent blotter

The following reports are on file with the Mt. Laurel Township Police Department:

On Jan. 29, at 11:17 p.m., patrols responded to the 600 block of Courtney Way for the report of a vehicle that was keyed and tires slashed. The victim reported that between the hours of 4 and 11:15 p.m. an unknown suspect keyed and slashed his vehicle tires causing $1,000 in damage.

On Jan. 28, 2018 at 9:02 pm, patrols responded to the 600 block of Courtney Way for the report of a vehicle that was keyed. The victim reported that between the hours of 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm an unknown suspect keyed his vehicle causing $1,500.00 in damage. No suspects at this time.

On Jan. 28 at 8:46 p.m., patrols responded to Tolerance Court for the report of a motor vehicle crash. The investigation resulted in a 28-year-old male from Mt Laurel being arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was processed and released to a family member pending a future court date.

On Jan. 28 at 8:12 p.m., patrols responded to a motel on the 800 block of Route 73 for the report of a credit card fraud and theft. The victim reported that his son purchased him a stripper for his birthday. After the stripper danced for him in his room, she left for approximately 25 minutes. The victim was unable to locate his vehicle keys in the room and called a locksmith to gain entrance to his vehicle. When the locksmith arrived, the keys were located in the driver side door of the vehicle. The victim then entered the vehicle and noticed that his cell phone, credit cards and other personal belongings were gone. He also reported that after the incident, a new charge appeared on one of his credit cards for $65 to the same motel. The investigation revealed that the stripper was currently staying in the same motel in a different room and recently paid for her room using a credit card that was possibly the victim’s. Officers made contact with the 44-year-old stripper from Browns Mills in her motel room. At this time it was revealed that the stripper and the victims “son” had outstanding warrants from multiple jurisdictions. The “son”, a 49-year-old male currently living in the local hotel was arrested. A search revealed drugs (heroin, marijuana) and two stolen credit cards belonging to the victim in the suspect’s pocket. The female was arrested for warrants and using the stolen credit card. Drug paraphernalia was observed in plain view in the room. The male suspect was charged with possession of stolen property, possession of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia. The female suspect was charged with credit card fraud and possession of drug paraphernalia. Each was remanded to the Burlington County Jail pending a future court date.

On Jan. 28 at 6:28 p.m., patrols conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 38 in the area of Hartford Road after a motorist complaint of an aggressive driver. During the investigation, it was determined that a 50-year-old female occupant from Mt. Holly, provided false identification to avoid officers from detecting an outstanding warrant. She was subsequently arrested and charged with hindering her own apprehension. She was turned over to the State Police in default of bail for her outstanding warrant. A 46-year-old male occupant from Mt. Holly was also arrested for outstanding warrants. He was released pending a future court date in Mt. Holly.

On Jan. 28 at 5:32 p.m., patrols responded to the Shoprite on the 1000 block of Nixon Drive for the report of a shoplifter who was detained by a loss prevention employee. Patrols arrested a 29-year-old male from Mt. Laurel who shoplifted $59.20 worth of store merchandise. Search incident to arrest revealed that he was in possession of a quantity of heroin. A short time later, the suspect’s girlfriend, a 34-year-old female, also from Mt Laurel, shoplifted $60.66 worth of store merchandise. She was also detained by loss prevention employees and then subsequently arrested by responding officers. Each was determined to have multiple warrants out of multiple agencies. The male suspect was charged with shoplifting and possession of a controlled dangerous substance on a warrant and remanded to the Burlington County Jail pending a future court date. The female suspect was charged with shoplifting on a summons. Due to a medical condition, she was transported to an area hospital and then turned over to officers from the Camden County Jail as a result of her outstanding warrants.

On Jan. 28 at 4:20 a.m., patrols responded to Teal Lane for the report of a suspect entering the resident’s vehicles. The victim/witness reported that she heard a car door shut which drew attention to her driveway. When she looked outside, she witnessed a thin male wearing all black flee the area on foot.

On Jan. 27 at 5:20 p.m., patrols responded to LA Fitness on the 4300 block of Dearborn Circle for the report of a theft from lockers. There were four victims identified who reported that sometime between 4:45 and 5:20 p.m. unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered their locked lockers and stole personal effects such as wallets, credit cards, cash and identification.

On Jan. 27 at 1:44 a.m., patrols conducted a motor vehicle stop on Diemer Drive by Atrium Way. Two passengers in the vehicle, a 25-year-old male from Willingboro and a 24-year-old male from Philadelphia, were arrested for outstanding warrants. Search incident to arrest revealed a quantity of marijuana. Each was charged with possession of marijuana and released on a summons pending a future court date. They were both given new court dates for their outstanding warrants.

On Jan. 25 at 8:37 p.m., patrols responded to Millers Ale House on Fellowship Road for the report of a vehicle break in. The victim reports that she parked her vehicle in the parking lot. When she returned, she found that an unknown suspect broke her passenger side front window. The suspect then rummaged through her purse and stole a bottle of perfume.

On Jan. 25 at 5:59 p.m., patrols responded to a residence on Whitechapel Court for the report of a credit card fraud. The victim reports that an unknown suspect charged $61 for a cell phone and made another charge for an undetermined amount.

On Jan. 25 at 6:17 p.m., patrols responded to a gas station on the 700 block of Ceneterton Road for the report of theft of gas. The gas attendant reported that he pumped $39 worth of gas into a newer white sedan, possibly a Ford Fusion bearing what he believed to be NJ Registration to a male with a beard and neck tattoo. The vehicle fled on Creek Road towards i295 without paying for the pumped gas.

On Jan. 25 at 6:37 p.m., patrols responded to the area of Route 73 and Church Road for a report of an erratic driver possibly under the influence. The suspect vehicle was located in the parking lot of Ramblewood Shopping Center. Further investigation revealed that the 35-year-old male driver from Cinnaminson was operating the vehicle while under the influence of drugs. He was subsequently arrested. He was found to be in possession of prescribed Clonazepam, and a quantity of heroin and cocaine. He also had in his possession a straw used to consume CDS. He was charged with possession CDS (heroin/cocaine), possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI and other motor vehicle violations. He was released to a family member pending a future court date.

On Jan. 25 at 3:01 p.m., patrols responded to a residence on the 1200 block of Crofton Court for the report of fraudulent activity to a bank account. The victim reports that between Jan. 16 and Jan. 17, an unknown suspect was able to access her bank account and withdraw $3,000 without her knowledge.

On Jan. 25 at 3:30 p.m., patrols responded to the 500 block of Willow Turn for the report of a vehicle being spray painted. The victim reports that sometime between Jan. 23 at 9:00 p.m. and Jan. 25 at 3:30 p.m., an unknown suspect spray painted racially insensitive and derogatory words on her vehicle while parked in the parking lot in front of her residence.

On Jan. 24 at 9:24 p.m., patrols responded to Chaucer Court for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Patrols located an occupied black Lexus ES300 in the area. After approaching the vehicle, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. During the investigation, each occupant provided conflicting statements as to why they were in the area. Investigation revealed one of the occupants, a 32-year-old male from Willingboro, had a quantity of marijuana in his possession. He was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50g and released on a summons pending a future court date. The other occupant, a 32-year-old male from Willingboro, attempted to conceal in his pants a quantity of marijuana, and a quantity of cocaine packaged in separate capsules indicative of drug sale and distribution. He was arrested and charged on a warrant with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana under 50g and failure to turn over CDS to police. He was remanded to the Burlington County Jail pending a future court hearing.

On Jan. 24 at 12:38 p.m., patrols responded to a residence on the 600 block of Hartford Road for the report of a past tense burglary. The victim/resident reported that he arrived home at 12:45 a.m. and found his portable window air conditioner pushed in and lying on his couch. He then found his master bedroom to have been ransacked and a portable fireproof safe stolen.

On Jan. 24 at 7:54 a.m., patrols responded to a motel on the 600 block of Fellowship Road for a fire alarm activation. Upon arrival, patrols were directed to room 135 where the alarm originated. The occupant of the room, a 41-year-old male from Voorhees, was found to have several outstanding warrants totaling $2,311. The arrestee was turned over to Burlington Township Police Department in default of bail.
