Cherokee High School entrepreneurship students place at Idea and Business Concept competition

Two Cherokee Entrepreneurship students and their Entrepreneurship teacher, Shellie Hughes, were invited as finalists to compete in the Norm Brodsky High School Idea/Business Concept Competition.

They were selected from more than 200 entries to present their ideas to a panel of judges as well as be subject to a question and answer session about their idea.

After an evening of presentations and motivational speakers including successful Entrepreneur Norm Brodsky, the winners were announced:

Dimitri Wawrzyniak, senior, placed fifth in the Senior Division. For his idea, titled Opiate Redistribution Initiative, he will receive a plaque and a $2,000 per year scholarship to Rider University.

Dylan Goida, sophomore, placed first in the sophomore/junior division. For his idea, titled EZ Empty, Dylan received a $750 prize, plaque, and an automatic advancement to the Rider Business Concept Finals during his senior year in 2020 with an opportunity to win a full scholarship to Rider worth $160,000.

Each student will also receive a scholarship to attend the Rider Bronc TANK Academy, a precollege Entrepreneurship Summer Camp.
