Learn how actions and common values, both individually and organizationally, can affect community and society as a whole
The “Values in Action” Theological Conference will take place at Medford United Methodist Church (MUMC) on Feb. 2 from 7 to 9 p.m., and again on Feb. 3 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
According to church officials, the deep-routed partnerships, grounded in core values, are essential to success of nearly every social justice initiative. Come join-in on a great opportunity to consider how one’s and others’ actions and common values, both individually and organizationally, affect the communities and society in general.
Pulitzer Prize –winning journalist Jose Antonio Vargas will be livestreamed from the conference being held in New York City. The conference is being streamed across the globe at partner sites, of which MUMC is one. In addition to Vargas, founder and CEO of Define America, Rev. Michael Curry, Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, Michelle Alexander, author of “The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness,” poet, theologian & mediator, Padraig O Tuama and Rev. Elizabeth M. Edman, author of “Queer Virtue: What LGBTQ People Know About Life and How It Can Revitalize Christianity,” will all be speaking.
