Police arrest Marlton man after he allegedly attempted to burn his own house down

Police say the incident took place on Jan. 9 on the unit block of Lady Diana Circle.

The following information is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:

On Jan. 9 at 10:30 a.m., the Evesham Township Police Department responded to the unit block of Lady Diana Circle for a house fire. Upon arrival, the homeowner extinguished the fire.

Through an extensive cooperative investigation between the Evesham Township Police Department, Evesham Fire Department and the New Jersey State Police Polygraph Unit, police say the man allegedly attempted to burn his own house down.

According to police, the homeowner was arrested and charged with arson and filing a false police report.

Arrested:

A male, age 53, of Marlton, was charged with third-degree arson and a disorderly person’s offense for filing a false police report. He was released on his own recognizance.
