Eastern Regional educator recognized on national level

Susan Pomerantz was honored by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.

Mrs. Susan Pomerantz of Eastern Regional High School is the sole new National Board certified teacher in 2017 from the local area with one teacher from Trenton and one from Perth Amboy also newly awarded. In total, New Jersey has 279 National Board Certified Teachers, and the number is growing.

The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards celebrates 5,470 new National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs) and another 3,957 Board-certified teachers who successfully renewed their certification. These teachers join a growing community of board-certified teachers.

There are now more than 118,000 strong across all 50 states. Each of these accomplished educators earned the profession’s highest mark of achievement through a rigorous performance-based, peer-review process, demonstrating their proven impact on student learning and achievement.
