Michele Leahy will be the guest speaker at this Asperger Autism Spectrum Education Network meeting.
ASPEN’s Camden, Burlington and Gloucester county chapters will have a meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 23, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Y.A.L.E. School, 11 Connecticut Avenue, in Cherry Hill.
This month’s guest speaker is Michele Leahy. She will share ways on how to navigate the SSI/SSDI system while mapping out a life plan that encourages independence and achievement.
Leahy will cover the topics and more:
· Is it possible to work and still receive benefits such as medical assistance and federal cash benefits?
· Three person retirement — parents and grandparents, are you planning for that?
· What is a waiver? Are there waivers for those with IQs above 70?
· What is Person Centered Planning, and why is it important?
