Evesham Police charge alleged lewdness suspect with endangering the welfare of a child

Police say several incidents date back to July and October.

The following information is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:

On Jan. 3, the Evesham Township Police Department charged a 44-year-old male of Browns Mills suspected in several alleged lewdness incidents with endangering the welfare of a child and lewdness.

According to police, the investigation dates back to July 25 at 1:30 p.m., when officers responded to the Walmart parking lot, 150 E. Route 70, for the report of a male allegedly masturbating inside his vehicle.

On Oct. 7 at 2 p.m., police say ETPD officers responded to the ShopRite parking lot, 307 W. Route 70 for another alleged incident of a male exposing himself to a mother and her juvenile daughter.

In each case, police say witnesses gave similar descriptions of the alleged male and the vehicle he was observed in.

According to police, detectives with Evesham Police were able to utilize video surveillance and cellular-phone data to identify and charge the accused.

The male, age 44, of Browns Mills, was charged with third-degree endangering the welfare of a child and a disorderly person offense for lewdness.
