The Moorestown Friends School Dance Team held a service-oriented performance on Dec. 14.
On Wednesday, Dec. 14, the Moorestown Friends School Dance Team performed for residents at Medford Leas, a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in Medford.
“Our performance at Medford Leas was holiday themed — religion generic. We’ve been working really hard on it and we were really excited [to perform for the residents],” said Dance Team Vice President and Moorestown resident Liz Huettl, a student in the Class of 2019.
“One of Dance Team’s goals as a club this fall was to have a service-oriented performance before winter break and the competition season, so the officers thought a series of winter-themed dances would be really nice for the senior citizens,” said Dance Team President and Moorestown resident Lizzie Cohen, Class of 2019.
Huettl said that the team chose Medford Leas because the CCRC has worked with Moorestown Monthly Meeting in the past.
“We wanted to give back to what they gave to [the Meeting],” Huettl said.
About 10 students traveled to Medford Leas for the performance. The Moorestown Friends Dance Team is in its third year. They perform at a variety of events during the school year in addition to regional competitions.
