A male, age 43, of Barnegat, was charged with second-degree armed robbery and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
The following information is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:
On Dec. 15, through a cooperative investigation with the FBI and the Bristol Township Police Department, the Evesham Police Department identified and arrested a Barnegat man suspected of robbing the Evesham PNC Bank on Dec. 8 and a bank in Bristol Pa.
Arrested:
A male, age 43, of Barnegat, was charged with second-degree armed robbery and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail with no bail.
According to police, on Dec. 8 at 5:54 p.m., Evesham Officers responded to the PNC Bank at 300 Greentree Road for a report of an armed bank robbery in progress.
At that time, investigation determined that the suspected male, dressed in all black, wearing a face mask and armed with a handgun, entered the bank and demanded money from a teller. After filling a sack with an undetermined amount of money, police said the male fled on foot towards Greentree Road.
