Mt. Laurel Police Department reports DWI, potential drug overdose and more in recent blotter

The following information is on file with the Mt. Laurel Township Police Department:

On Dec. 10 at 11:26 a.m., patrols responded to a motel on the 600 block of Fellowship Road for a drug and prostitution complaint. During the investigation, a suspect told officers that he was at the motel as an investigator to make a controlled purchase of drugs. Officer on scene determined this claim to be false. A search of a vehicle on scene revealed a quantity of methamphetamine. Both involved suspects denied ownership of the drugs and were subsequently arrested. The 34-year-old female suspect from Winter Gardens, Fla. was charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. She was released on a summons. The 29-year-old male from Cherry Hill was charged with possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and hindering his own apprehension for providing a false name. He was remanded to the Burlington County Jail.

On Dec. 10 at 12:44 a.m., an officer made a motor vehicle stop for motor vehicle violations and suspicion of DWI. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of a 19-year-old male from Mt. Laurel for DWI and drug offenses to include possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released to his father pending a future court date.

On Dec. 9 at 6:54 p.m., patrols responded to Springdale Road and Church Road for the report of a motor vehicle crash. During the investigation, officers detected the odor of burnt marijuana in one of the vehicles. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a smoking pipe and quantity of marijuana. The 20-year-old male driver from Pennsauken was arrested, processed and released pending a future court date.

On Dec. 9 at 11:58 a.m., patrols responded to East Daisy Lane for the report of a theft of a package. The victim reports that a package was delivered to her doorstep at 10:50 a.m. on Dec. 9. When she arrived home from work, the package was gone.

On Dec. 8, 2017 at 10:13 p.m., Camden County Police Department advised that they recovered a stolen motor vehicle that was reported stolen from Amberfield Drive on Dec. 4. The vehicle was involved in a motor vehicle crash and the occupants fled the scene.

On Dec. 9 at 2:08 a.m., patrols arrested a 40-year-old female from Haverton, Pa. for outstanding warrants out of Atlantic City. The female was released pending a future court date.

On Dec. 8 at 9:40 p.m., patrols responded to the 8000 block of Normandy Drive for the report of a burglary to a residence. The victim reported that on Dec. 8, between 5:45 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. unknown suspects forced entry to a rear first floor window. The suspects stole numerous pieces of jewelry from the master bedroom.

On Dec. 8 at 9:09 p.m., patrols arrested a 36-year-old male from Burlington Township for outstanding warrants out of Mt. Laurel Court. The male was turned over to the Burlington County Jail in default of $300 bail.

On Dec. 8 at 8:11 p.m., patrols arrested a 35-year-old male from Mt. Laurel for outstanding warrants out of Mt. Laurel Court. The male was turned over to the Burlington County Jail in default of $500 bail.

On Dec. 8 at 3:39 p.m., patrols responded to the ShopRite at 127 Ark Road for the report of a suspicious male looking into vehicles. Patrols located the male suspect. A check of the 55-year-old male from Mt. Laurel revealed that he had a warrant out of Burlington and was a wanted person out of Hudson County. The male was arrested and turned over to the Burlington County Jail.

On Dec. 7 at 2:48 p.m., patrols responded to the 100 block of Sumac Court for the report of a theft of a UPS package. The resident reported that UPS delivered a package however when she arrived home she did not find the package on her doorstep where it was left. Investigation ongoing.

On Dec. 7 at 1:47 p.m., patrols responded to Leighton Drive for the report of damage to a vehicle. The victim reported that sometime between 5 p.m. on Dec. 6 and 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 7, unknown suspects keyed the hood of her vehicle while parked in front of her residence.

On Dec. 7, a resident of Amberfield Drive came into Mt. Laurel Police headquarters to report a theft from his motor vehicle while parked on the 200 block of Amberfield Drive. The victim reported that sometime between Dec. 3 to Dec. 7, an unknown suspect stole loose change and a wallet out of his unlocked vehicle.

On Dec. 7, the family of an elderly resident of Patrician Lane reported that they recently hired a caretaker to care for their loved one. During the first week of care, the victim reported the theft of a gift card and money. The victim’s bank debit card was also used at an ATM machine in Maple Shade. Video surveillance is being obtained.

On Dec. 7 at 11:45 a.m., patrols responded to the Panera Bread in Centerton Square for the report of a theft from a purse. The victim reported that she hung her purse on her chair and then went to the food service counter. When she returned to her seat, her wallet was gone. The suspect used the credit cards to make multiple purchases at local stores.

On Dec. 6 at 10:21 p.m., patrols responded to a motel on the 1100 block of Route 73 for the report of an unresponsive female. Upon arrival, by police, EMS and Paramedics, Narcan and other life saving measures were attempted. After all attempts failed, the 24-year-old victim from Collingswood was pronounced deceased. It is believed that an overdose on illegal drugs was the cause.

On Dec. 6 at 11:12 a.m., patrols responded to 3131 Route 38, Wig-A-Do for the report of a burglary and theft. Store security cameras captured a male enter the store at approximately 2:13 a.m. and then proceeded to steal money.

On Dec. 6 at 9:16 a.m., patrols conducted a motor vehicle stop on Midlantic Drive. The 24-year-old male driver from Mt. Laurel was arrested for a traffic warrant. He was released pending a new court date.

On Dec. 6 at 1:04 a.m., patrols responded to the 600 block of Mapleview Court for the report of a burglary and theft from a residence. The victim reported that sometime between 4 p.m. and 1 a.m., unknown suspect(s) forced entry into a second story window after using a ladder to get to the entry point. The residence was ransacked and money was stolen.

On Dec. 5 at 7:33 p.m., patrols responded to the 3800 block of Church Road for the report of damage to a parked motor vehicle. The victim reports that sometime between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. suspects smashed out a front driver side window and ransacked the vehicle.

On Dec. 5 at 5:39 p.m., patrols responded to the 400 block of Hartford Road for the report of a burglary and theft from a residence currently being renovated. The contractor reports that the suspect stole various tools worth more than $500 and caused approximately $200 worth of damage in the residence.

On Dec. 5 at 2:04 p.m., patrols responded to the 600 block of Fellowship Road for the report of a theft of a TV from a motel room. Employees reported that after a guest checked out of the motel, they later contacted the motel to advise them that they took a TV. The guest then left the TV in front of the motel room door and left the scene.

On Dec. 5 at 11:34 a.m., patrols responded to Lavister Drive for the report of identity theft. The victim reports that an unknown suspect attempted to use her personal information to obtain a Sprint cell phone. Sprint denied the purchase of the phone. No suspects at this time.

On Dec. 5 at 10:39 a.m., patrols responded to the 500 block of Fellowship Road for the report of an intoxicated female walking near the roadway. A 31-year-old female from Sewell was located and subsequently arrested for outstanding criminal warrants out of Camden City and Trenton.
