The following is a public statement by the Washington Township Public School District on Lamont Robinson’s resignation as head football coach.
In a letter to Athletic Director Kevin Murphy, Lamont Robinson has decided to resign his position as head football coach at Washington Township High School.
In a meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 12, Robinson informed the football team he would not be returning to coach the Minutemen next season.
“Coach Robinson informed me he has decided not to return for a second season with our Minuteman football program in 2018,” Murphy said in a statement. “He intends to remain as a history teacher at WTHS. We have regretfully accepted his resignation and respect his decision to not return as the head coach of our football team.”
