The six-time NFL Pro Bowler and Philadelphia Eagles kicker will share a unique, life-changing story
Gloucester County Community Church in Sewell will feature six-time NFL Pro Bowler and record holder David Akers to be a guest speaker on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 3 at 9:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.
Many will remember Akers for the amazing kicking career he had with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2000–2009. He played 12 seasons, more games in an Eagles uniform than anyone ever and became the franchises’ all-time leading scorer. He was named to the Eagles 75th Anniversary All-Time Team, was voted as the kicker on the NFL 200’s All-Decade Team, set the NFL mark for points in a decade and was recently inducted into the Eagles Hall Of Fame this past October. He’s best known for tying the NFL field goal record on September 9, 2012, with a 63-yard completion.
Akers is also a champion in the community, launching “David Akers’ Kicks for Kids” in 2001 to benefit greater Philadelphia children facing serious mental or physical challenges. Since then, “Kicks for Kids” has been able to donate nearly $1,000,000 to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia programs.
Don’t miss Akers’ unique, compelling and life-changing story. Bring an Eagles fan — bring a football fan! You’ll be glad that you did.
