Members of the Air Force JROTC from Seneca High School paid a visit to Veterans at an assisted living home
Seneca High School’s Air Force JROTC visited the Menlo Park Veterans Assisted Living Home in Edison on Monday, Oct. 30. The cadets participated in various activities to include bowling, balloon volleyball, trivia alongside the residents. Senior Cadet Devin Borkowski used her artistic talents to draw pictures for 15 of the veterans. The cadets also had an opportunity to spend time with the veterans and listen to stories from their experiences in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.
“The visit was worthwhile on many levels. We got the opportunity to spend time with people who led fascinating lives who fought for our country. I can’t say enough about the experience,” Borkowski said.
Sergeant John Brooks and Captain Skip Gmitter, Seneca High School’s Air Force JROTC Instructors, both expressed how proud they were of our students.
“Their compassion, patience, and willingness to listen and enjoy the company of the veterans was remarkable,” Brooks said.
