The Cherry Hill Historical Commission will host the presentation beginning at 7 p.m.
The Cherry Hill Historical Commission invites resident to take a historical trip on Cherry Hill’s Forgotten Railroad on Nov. 30.
The historical commission will host a presentation entitled, “Cherry Hill’s Forgotten Railroad: The Philadelphia, Marlton & Medford Railroad” on Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. at the Cherry Hill Public Library.
The presentation will take guests through Cherry Hill along the rail bed, from one end of the township to the other, via pictures, vivid descriptions, and various paraphernalia gathered during the exploration. It will chronicle the life of the railroad, how it affected the local residents and how the township looked during the era. The exact location of the four stations, as well as still-standing culverts and trestles dating back to the 1880’s, will be shown.
