One dead, one in critical condition after collision on Route 130

A car crashed into the rear of a tractor trailer this morning near the Riverton Road intersection

Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina announced that one person was killed and another was injured when a car collided with a tractor-trailer this morning on Route 130 in Cinnaminson.

The car was traveling southbound when the collision occurred near the intersection with Riverton Road at approximately 10:30 a.m. A passenger in the front seat of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he was admitted in critical condition.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured. The name of the decedent is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin. The name of the driver is being withheld because he is a juvenile.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and crashed into the rear of the tractor-trailer. The car had been previously reported as stolen out of Cinnaminson. Cinnaminson police had attempted to execute a traffic stop on the vehicle moments earlier, but the driver accelerated instead of pulling over.

The investigation is being conducted by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office. Additional details will be released as the investigation progresses. No further information will be released today.
