Boys and Girls Club of Camden County celebrates 15 years of giving

The celebration presentation and dinner will take place tomorrow.

On Thursday, Nov. 16, the Boys & Girls Club of Camden County (BGCCC) will continue its 15-year tradition of providing a delicious full-course pre-Thanksgiving dinner for hundreds of Club Members and their families.

The event, taking place at Marjorie & Lewis Katz East Camden Clubhouse, starts with a celebration presentation at 5:15 p.m., which will be followed by dinner at 5:45 p.m.

This project is possible thanks to the dedication of dozens of volunteers and board members who help cook and serve, and to the generosity of local caterers, restaurants and supermarkets who provide the food and ingredients.

BGCCC is also celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the Marjorie & Lewis Katz East Camden Clubhouse.

The Clubhouse recently underwent some special upgrades and renovations thanks to a $50,000 Lowes Renovation Across the Nation grant. The BGCCC was selected as one of 50 Clubs from around the country participating in Renovation Across the Nation. This initiative, supported by Lowe’s, awarded 50 individual $50,000 grants and volunteer assistance to one Club per state around the country and Camden was selected.

This grant is critical to improving the overall Club environment and experience for its children and teens. So far, it has replaced carpeting throughout the Club, replaced the blinds to create a safer environment, installed LED lighting. The club is hoping to make its pool deck safer for all in the coming months.
