Weekly Roundup: Lenape High School set to debut ‘Snow White’, Mt. Laurel goes to the polls

Students and staff at Lenape High School are trying to reach out to a younger audience this year with the upcoming production of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” In addition to choosing a well-known, family-friendly story to perform, students and staff say the show is meant to feel like an interactive experience with its audience.

Lenape High School field hockey playoff run comes to end in the NJSIAA Group IV state semifinals

Lenape High School’s field hockey playoff run came to a close in the NJSIAA Group IV state semifinals on Wednesday, as the Indians were eliminated by South Jersey Group IV champion Eastern Regional High School, 7–1. The week prior the Indians won their first sectional title since since 2003 with a 1–0 win over Rancocas Valley Regional High School in the Central Jersey Group IV championship game.

Local election results for Mt. Laurel Township

While there were no contested races for Mt. Laurel Township Council or the Mt. Laurel Schools Board of Education this year, Mt. Laurel voters did send the township a resounding “Yes” last week when they voted to approve a change to how the township can spend money collected from open space taxes. Mt. Laurel Area Women’s Club to hold November meeting on Nov. 21

The Mt. Laurel Area Women’s Club will hold its November meeting on Nov. 21 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Mt. Laurel Community Center, 100 Walt Whitman Ave. Meetings normally take place on the third Tuesday of the month. The program for the November meeting will feature Joanne O’Leary, Master Gardener of Monmouth County and member of the Mt. Laurel Garden Club.

Mt. Laurel AARP Chapter to hold annual holiday luncheon on Dec. 7

The Mt. Laurel AARP Chapter will hold its annual holiday luncheon on Thursday, Dec. 7, at O’Connor’s Restaurant, at Monmouth and Smithville Roads in Eastampton, from 1 to 4 p.m. Al’s Choral Group will entertain attendees with a variety of popular and winter themed songs.
