Letter to the Editor: Endorsement of Mignogna and Platt for reelection

“I believe the best chance we have of continuing to move Voorhees Township’s recreation program forward is to support Michael and Harry.”

By: Troy Brocco

When my family and I moved to Voorhees, I looked forward to serving our community and volunteering my time in the area of youth sports and recreation. I believe that it is extremely important for a child’s development to participate and have a positive experience in team sports and athletics, whether it is baseball, softball, football, basketball, soccer or lacrosse.

Some of our elected officials, like Mayor Mike Mignogna and Committeeman Harry Platt, have made all recreational activities in our town a priority.

Our Township Committee, led by Mike and Harry, continues to improve and increase our recreational facilities. These accomplishments include: improvements to the playground at Connolly Park on Centennial Boulevard, the site of our Summer Series; improvements at Lions Lake Softball Complex, including additional field lighting; Field Turf installed at Giangiulio Football Field; Field Turf installed at

Rabinowitz Major’s baseball field, plus the addition of a new community playground with a $25,000 grant.

In 2017, Mike and Harry were instrumental in addressing a major need of the Voorhees Soccer Association and were able to install Field Turf at Maiaroto Sport Complex.

Unfortunately, Mike and Harry’s opponents in this year’s election have not put forth any initiatives to address our town’s recreational needs. I believe the best chance we have of continuing to move Voorhees Township’s recreation program forward is to support Michael and Harry.

If your child is active in sports in our community, please vote Column 1 on Election Day — Nov. 7 — Mike Mignogna and Harry Platt for Voorhees Township Committee.
