Napolitano said his role as a father is shaping his decision when he votes in the 2017 Board of Education election.
As a first-time dad of a 6-month old, I’ve paid closer attention than ever to this year’s Board of Education election. I want to ensure the right people are in office to push for best practices in the management of our school district while guaranteeing the best education for kids like my daughter. For that reason, I will be voting for Pete Palko, Kameron Rabenou and Tinamarie Nicolo-Dorfner for the three, 3-year terms and for Mark Villanueva for the 2-year unexpired term.
I’ve had the pleasure of personally knowing Pete Palko for quite some time. Pete is a passionate, intelligent and good-hearted person who has served on the board for the last three years. During that time, Pete has kept our taxes in check, utilized his financial expertise to save the school district over $2.5 million in health care costs and ensured our schools remained among the best in New Jersey. He’s a dad, a consummate volunteer and has proven that he deserves our support for another term.
Kameron Rabenou and Tinamarie Nicolo-Dorfner are dedicated parents who are seeking to give back to their community. Kameron is an educator with extensive experience in finance who will bring a new perspective to our BOE’s budget process. Tinamarie works in health care and holds both a deep love for the arts and a master’s degree in special education. I know they will serve with fresh ideas and boundless enthusiasm.
Though he is unopposed, I am glad to be voting for Mark Villanueva for the final seat. Mark’s belief in fiscal responsibility and his personal experience as a lifelong Moorestown resident make him the perfect fit to continue in Kathy Goldenberg’s legacy of service to community.
When you vote on Nov. 7, I hope you will join me in voting for Palko, Rabenou, Nicolo-Dorfner and Villanueva.
