White Cane Day’s mission is to educate the world about blindness and how the blind and visually impaired live and work independently while giving back to their communities.
The Annual White Cane Fund Drive that solicits voluntary contributions from the public for the treatment and prevention of blindness will be held by the Haddonfield Lions Club the Wednesday, Nov. 22. Member of Lions will collect donations in downtown Haddonfield. The mission of White Cane Day is also to educate the world about blindness and how the blind and visually impaired live and work independently while giving back to their communities. All of the money collected, almost $2,000 last year, is donated to various sight-related charities including the South Jersey Eye Center in Camden and the Helen Diller Vacation Home in Avalon.
