Celebrate arts and cultural offerings on the college’s Mt. Holly Campus from noon to 4 p.m., held with Mount Holly’s Annual Car Show.
Burlington County Freeholder Linda Hughes and Rowan College at Burlington County (RCBC) are inviting the community to celebrate the new arts and cultural offerings on the college’s Mt. Holly Campus this Saturday, Oct. 21, from noon to 4 p.m., at an Arts Party, held in conjunction with Mt. Holly’s 15th Annual Car Show.
The college recently moved its fine arts studio, graphic design and fashion design programs to the Mt. Holly Campus to join culinary arts and create a cultural hub for the community.
“The new offerings at RCBC’s Mt. Holly Campus have brought a new cultural experience to a vibrant downtown community,” said Hughes, county liaison to the college. “The RCBC Arts Party and Car Show is a great opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate what makes Mt. Holly a great place to live, learn, work and play.”
The RCBC Arts Party is free and open to the community. There will be tours of the Mt. Holly Campus, family-friendly hands-on activities and a barbecue lunches sold by the college’s culinary arts program.
“Rowan College at Burlington County’s transformation in Mt. Holly increases the college’s presence in the community, while adding to the cultural landscape of the town,” said Rowan College at Burlington County Acting President Michael Cioce. “We are excited to see more students utilizing the campus and look forward to them becoming more involved in the community.”
RCBC students Geoffrey Adams and Hana Katz, both graduates of Rancocas Valley Regional High School in Mt. Holly, are in the process of starting up a Mt. Holly club for students at the college.
“There’s a lot going on in Mt. Holly, from events like the Car Show and the Witches Ball in October, to the historic areas like Mill Race Village and the historic prison,” said Katz, who plans to serve on the club’s executive board. “We want to increase awareness and participation in the RCBC community about what’s happening in Mt. Holly and bring more energy to the Mt. Holly Campus.”
The Mt. Holly Campus is located at 1 High St., just a block away from the Mill Race Village shops. It inhabits a former bank building and retained its historic charm with stained glass windows, high ceilings and old vaults.
