Medford Township’s Department of Neighborhood Services has announced Saturday Fall yard hours for 2017. Please note the additional dates through October. The DPW yard will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the following Saturdays:
Oct. 14 and 21
Nov. 18
Dec.16
Regular yard hours are Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.; excluding holidays.
Additionally, the Department of Neighborhood Services continues to collect brush as part of the Summer/Fall Brush Collection Program. Brush should be placed at the street no later than the Monday of the first scheduled collection week. Each street will be collected once. Brush should be free of leaves and other foreign debris. The brush collection schedule is as follows:
Zone 1: Weeks of Aug. 14 and 21 (COMPLETE)
Zone 3: Weeks of Aug. 28 and Sept. 4 (COMPLETE)
Zone 5: Weeks of Sept. 11 and Sept. 18 (COMPLETE)
Zone 4: Weeks of Sept. 25 and Oct. 2 (COMPLETE)
Zone 2: Weeks of Oct. 9 and Oct. 16 (On-schedule)
Due to the early collection of Zone 1, one final sweep of Zone 1 will be performed the week of Oct. 23. All brush in Zone 1 must be at the street by Monday, Oct. 23. Each street will again be collected once.
Residents in areas that have been completed who have brush may bring it to the DPW yard at 2 Commonwealth Drive any Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and every third Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Additional Saturday hours are posted on the Township website at http://medfordtownship.com/content/233/251/323.aspx. Leaf collection will begin Monday, Oct. 30. Leaves should not be placed at the street for collection more than seven days prior to a scheduled collection. The Leaf Collection Schedule is as follows:

Week of Nov. 6, Zones 1 and 2
Week of Nov. 13, Zone 4
Week of Nov. 20, Zone 3
Week of Nov. 27, Zone 5
Week of Dec. 4, Zones 1 and 2

Each street will be collected once during the collection week. All leaves should be placed loosely at the curb or edge of the roadway by Monday morning of the scheduled collection week. Leaf piles should not contain brush, sticks, branches, limbs, trash, or any other foreign material. Leaf piles should be placed as close to the road as possible without blocking lanes of travel. Leaf Collection equipment can only reach ten feet from the edge of the roadway. Collection vehicles will not leave the roadway to collect leaves. Leaves should be kept at least ten feet from any storm drains or catch basins. Leaf piles that do not meet the strict guidelines above will not be collected.
Leaves placed at the road by professional landscapers, contractors, or anyone hired by a homeowner must be removed by them. Residents who have excess leaves to dispose of may bring them to our DPW yard any Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and every third Saturday of the month from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.; except holidays. Leaves and brush are accepted at the DPW yard year-round. Residents must show proof of residency. Contractors are not permitted to dispose of any material at the DPW yard.
