According to police, the mother was last seen in the southern end of the township pushing her small child in a stroller. Patrol units flooded the area and early information pointed to the female being picked up by an unknown vehicle.

Borden and his K-9 arrived on location and began a K-9 track from her last known location.

Police say K-9 Spike tracked the mothers scent for approximately a half mile down a paved road and into a wooded area. Once in the woods, K-9 Spike continued to track the women’s scent and located the mother and child standing by lake.

According to police, each were taken into protective custody, the mother was transported to a hospital for a mental health screening and the unharmed child was turned over to a family member.
