Evesham BOE honors employee for 50 years of service in school district’s transportation department
The Evesham Township School District recently honored long-time employee Barbara Olt, 77, for 50 years of service in the district’s transportation department. Olt began driving school buses for the district in 1967 and drove for more than three decades before becoming transportation coordinator in the mid-2000s.
Marlton Woman’s Club invites women to fall open house and general meeting scheduled for Oct. 30
The Marlton Woman’s Club invites women in the community to its fall ppen house and October general meeting on Monday, Oct. 30. The meeting will be held at the Gibson House Community Center at 535 E. Main St. in Marlton and begins at 6:30 p.m. with light refreshments, followed by the meeting at 7 p.m.
Four Lenape Regional High School District students named National Merit Semifinalists
The Lenape Regional High School District is congratulating four senior students who have been named National Merit Semifinalists as part of the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program. According to the district, Anthony Huynh, Ashwin Mahadevan and Samuel Schepps, all from Cherokee High School join a nationwide pool of about 16,000 academically talented high school seniors who now have the opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million.
Lenape Regional High School District BOE approves new opioid abuse policy
At the Sept. 27 regular meeting of the Lenape Regional High School District Board of Education, the board approved a new policy that enables school nurses to receive the appropriate training to administer an opioid overdose antidote during school hours or during school-sponsored activities. School nurses may administer an opioid antidote to a student, school personnel or others believed to be experiencing an opioid overdose.
LRHSD’s Birnbohm named ‘Superintendent to Watch’ by National School Public Relations Association
Lenape Regional High School District Superintendent Carol Birnbohm is one of 21 district leaders across the country named by the National School Public Relations Association as a 2017–18 “Superintendent to Watch.” According to LRHSD officials, Birnbohm was chosen for the honor because of her “dynamic leadership style that has a strong emphasis on communication.”
