- Do you have flavor? Then sign up for Spiceology 101: An Intro to Spice Blending at the Palmyra Community Center. This program starts up on Friday Oct. 6 and runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The class will take place in Meeting Room 1A and 1B. If you’re looking for flavor, then this class is for you! Get your taste buds ready to experience and explore the flavor and health benefits of common herbs and spices in this hands-on workshop. Cooking Alchemy’s Chef and Nutritionist, Elizabette Andrade will help us discover how to use nature’s finest building blocks to transform simple foods and meals naturally. This class covers the science behind creating the perfect spice blend by balancing ingredients by using a simple formula. - Looking to get out and become closer with nature? The Palmyra Cove Nature Park will hold their monthly family nature walk on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Each walk highlights a different part of the park. Bring snacks, nets, collectors or anything else to make the trip comfortable. The park will provide any equipment needed for a lesson. The cost is $5 per person and free for members. - Camden County International Day returns to Voorhees Township this weekend. The annual event will take place on Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Eastern Regional High School, located at 1401 Laurel Oak Road. This year’s event will include more than 70 local vendors and entertainment ensembles, all of which represent regional residents from a scope of backgrounds, ranging from the Pacific Islands to Pakistan. - There will be books aplenty in Collingswood this weekend. The 15th annual Collingswood Book Festival will take place along Haddon Avenue on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be tons of authors, booksellers and storytellers at this year’s festival. - Celebrate Columbus Day early in Sea Isle City on Saturday. Sea Isle City will host its Italian Festival from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. At 2 p.m., a Columbus Day Parade will be held starting in front of the Sea Isle City Italian American Club on JFK Boulevard and continuing to the location of the festival at Kix McNutleys on 63rd Street.
